Morro Bay – A Weekend Away

So, I said Tuesday, it’s still Tuesday, right?!

I struggled getting to the computer today, but hey, I’m here!

I had such a wonnnnderful weekend with Marco! We celebrated one year together (almost) in Morro Bay.

We started the vacation Friday night in Ojai at The Ranch House.

Look behind Marco and notice all of the trees and bamboo, I felt like I was eating dinner in a tree house with hanging lights everywhere!

And here, the indulgent (very indulgent!) weekend begins…

And also split an organic, local salad with fresh tangerines. Yum! This tasted so fresh!

For dinner, I had salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes. Although it looks like only a dallap of mashed taters’ I was actually really happy with the portions because I had room for a capo & some ice cream Image may be NSFW.

So delish!

Instead of getting a drink at the restaurant, we decided to wait and go downtown Ventura after dinner.

We went to my favorite place, Lure. Of course, if already indulging, I got a lemon drop with sugar on the rim Image may be NSFW.

Omelettes and Taters’! Now, these guys weren’t skimpy on their portions, and I definitely couldn’t finish all of this.

Especially not while reading their menu which talks about dining etiquette Image may be NSFW.

Marco and I got a good laugh at home much etiquette we don’t know! I must say – practicing table etiquette did help us to slow down

Now, in Morro Bay, the first thing we did was check out the little town… and buy a brick of walnut chocolate fudge, of course… which I ate later, while laying in bed, watching a movie… yes, this was vacation! And no, if you’re wondering, I didn’t share… I offered, but Marco declined Image may be NSFW.

We ran into another couple that asked us to take a picture of them, so they returned the favor Image may be NSFW.

At night, we went to a Mexican Restaurant that served the worlds largest burrito. I’m not kidding you, this thing was huge! I only ate half and I still felt like I ate the whole thing.

Marco on the other hand… he was proud to show off that he polished his right off!

After dinner, we went back to our room and lazied around. It was sooo nice just to have to walk next door. We stayed at the Baywood Inn, which has quite a few little restaurants surrounding it. It was quite Old Fashioned, and extremely cozy. I mean, we slept with quilts and a down comforter! It doesn’t get much more comfy than that.

In the morning, we lounged around before getting breakfast. I had Coffee in bed, and read some Eat, Pray, Love… which has been fantastic by the way! I feel like I am traveling through Italy myself! (Thank you Joanne!)

At breakfast I had a veggie omelet + a few potatoes (unpictured).

On our way home, we stopped at Top Dog Coffee, which Marco’s Grandpa recommended. I got a Capo, and Marco got a Mexican Hot Chocolate, which were both really good!

To end our vacation, we came home went shopping, and out to dinner. Since we ate out every meal, we were stuffed enough each day from Breakfast that we just skipped right over lunch. That’s why you’re not getting any lunch pictures here.

After dinner Sunday night, we came back to my house, got ready, and went out again with a group of friends (Hi Haley, Jade, and Anthony!). We went to a friends house warming party, which didn’t last too long, but it was fun to go out!

Monday consisted of sleeping in, going to a Step Class, and unwinding from the weekend.

Today, Tuesday, you will be seeing bright and early in the AM Image may be NSFW.

Anyways, we had a wonderful time together. It was so nice to get away and just relax. It was exactly what I needed. And to be doing that with my best friend – nothing is better.

What’s your most favorite, relaxing vacation memory?
