Good afternoon everyone! Happy Tuesday. I hope that you guys had a great 3 day weekend! I did. Ah, that was a great 3 days off. Sunday afternoon, Marco and I came home and laid in bed and watched two episodes of Parenthood in the middle of the day. So relaxing.
Sunday morning for breakfast I had an apple and a Larabar before church. This was definitely a to-go breakfast
After Church, we went to my parents house and while my Mom/Dad were making us “Sgt. Stub Skillets” I snacked on some grapes and straight salsa. Corn and black bean salsa with mango needs to chip for me. Man, it’s good!
This meal was like breakfast for lunch. Potatoes with egg over the top.
In the afternoon while lounging and watching Parenthood, I made a Green Smoothie. Mmm!
After resting for 2 hours, Marco asked what I wanted to do. I jokingly (kinda) but hopefully shouted “IKEA!” And he said “Is that really what you want to do?” I said “Well, it sounds fun, but no, we don’t have to do that…:)” he then explained that even though he had to work the next day, it still sounded fun to do something spontaneous, and that he wanted to go if it was what I wanted to do. I also may or may not have suggested that we go to Islands afterward
Before we left, I decided to make Marco a sandwich. I was determined that this was going to be a GOOD, fun IKEA trip. Haha! Lets just say, it worked! We had so much fun. We talked the whole way there, had a good shopping experience, went to dinner, and sang country songs really loud on the way home. Yes, I do love getting to marry my very best friend.
Check this couch out. It turns into a bed! If you pull on those little two tabs, it becomes a huge bed. We love it! $800 is a little pricey for an IKEA couch… so we are no lurking Craigslist!
For dinner I got half a Cobb Salad, already knowing that they have endless fries, and Marco was going to get fries with his burger. When the waitress brought us our drinks Marco asked “do you guys still have endless fries?” and she said “We do, would you like me to bring you out a basket to start?” OF COURSE! So just an FYI, you can start with fries at Islands if they come with your meal
That was the end of Sunday.
Monday, I woke up and started putting together my IKEA furniture. Breakfast was a Green Smoothie. Mmm mm!
After Step, we ran some errands. After errands, I made a great big salad for lunch. The picture to the side was carrots & hummus, which I did not eat. My eyes were bigger than my stomach. In the afternoon yesterday, we hung out by the pool.
For dinner, we went to a Labor Day BBQ at Marco’s Parents house. They set up the backyard so nicely that I had to take a picture
I love all the water and all the green. Feels so calm.
For dinner, I had salad, grilled pineapple, corn, beans, chicken, and ribs. Wow, I have not had ribs in forever… they were quite good… I had my fix
After dinner, the guys hung out in the living room, and us ladies hungout in the kitchen talking. The usual The weekend ended well. Marco and I were both so tired going to bed last night. The weekend was full, and fun!
